Introducing My Podcast: Stuttering Demystified and Beyond
by Lori Melnitsky, MA CCC-SLP, Stuttering Specialist and Person who Stutters
If you or someone you love stutters, you know how confusing, emotional, and isolating the experience can feel. Stuttering is often misunderstood—even by well-meaning teachers, clinicians, and family members. That’s exactly why I created my podcast, Stuttering Demystified and Beyond, now streaming on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
As a speech-language pathologist who stutters, I live at the intersection of professional expertise and personal experience. I’ve spent decades working with children, teens, and adults who stutter—and I’ve also lived the fear, frustration, and resilience that come with navigating the world with a stutter.
This podcast was born out of a simple but powerful mission:To make stuttering easier to understand, less scary, and far more human.
Each episode blends:
Real conversations about what stuttering actually is
Practical insights for parents, educators, and SLPs
Encouragement for people who stutter at every age
Stories that reduce shame and build confidence
A reminder that communication is about connection—not perfection
We talk about the emotional side of stuttering, what therapy should really look like, how to support children who stutter without pressure, and how adults can reclaim their voices in work, relationships, and life. Some episodes are educational. Some are reflective. All are grounded in empathy and real-world experience.
Whether you are:
A parent trying to do the “right” thing
A teen or adult who stutters
A speech-language pathologist wanting deeper understanding
Or someone who simply wants to learn
This podcast is for you.
You can listen on:

My hope is that each episode leaves you feeling a little less alone, a little more informed, and a lot more empowered.
Because stuttering doesn’t need to be hidden. It doesn’t need to be “fixed” to be worthy. And your voice—just as it is—matters.
