Virtual Stuttering Therapy

Why I Am Only Offering
Virtual Therapy

When people ask me why I no longer see clients in person, my answer is simple: because I’ve seen how much better virtual therapy works for my clients and their families.

This decision wasn’t about convenience for me—it was about creating the best possible experience for the people I help.

Life Is Busy

As a mom, I know what it feels like to run from work to school to activities, barely finding time to breathe. Families don’t need one more commute or one more appointment to stress over. By offering therapy virtually, I can give parents and kids a little bit of that time back. Instead of sitting in traffic, you can sign on from home and know you’re still giving your child the support they need.

What I’ve Seen With Families

One of my favorite parts of virtual therapy is how naturally parents and caregivers join the process. In the past, families would sit in the waiting room and hope to remember everything I said after the session. Now, they can sit right beside their child, watch what we’re working on, and practice it in real time. I’ve seen families grow more confident and connected through this process—and that makes therapy far more effective.

It Works

I’ll be honest—when virtual therapy first started becoming common, I had my doubts. But over and over again, I watched children, teens, and adults make real progress. The screen isn’t a barrier; in fact, it often helps. Clients feel more comfortable at home, and I get to use interactive tools and activities that keep them engaged. Research confirms it, but more importantly, I’ve witnessed it firsthand.

Why This Matters to Me Personally

As someone who stutters, I know how vulnerable it can feel to walk into a therapy office. That extra layer of anxiety isn’t always helpful. When we meet virtually, my clients can relax in their own space, and that sense of safety makes a huge difference.

Most importantly, virtual therapy enables me to reach people I would never have been able to before. I can work with families across New York and beyond, offering hope and strategies to those who may not have had access otherwise. Ultimately, I want my clients to feel supported, understood, and empowered. Virtual therapy has allowed me to make that possible—and that’s why I’ve chosen to do it this way.

“I cannot thank Lori enough for helping me control my stuttering and be more fluent. I did not want to accept. I could barely say my name, When we started working together my mindset literally was, I stutter, no one wants to listen to me. I now say. I stutter, can speak with confidence and say my name. Great program. Tk you"
